The slogan or theme of World Breastfeeding Week 2020 is “Support breastfeeding for a healthier planet”.

#WBW2020 will focus on the impact of infant feeding on the environment/climate change and the imperative to protect, promote, and support breastfeeding for the health of the planet and its people.

World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA), World Health Organization (WHO), United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF), and American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) focus on the importance of breastfeeding for both mother and child.

All these organizations recommend exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months of life and then supplemented breastfeeding for at least one year and up to two years or more.
